      Default Heavy Macro

Well I recently upgraded to a Nikon SLR but most of the amazing pictures I have taken were shot with this simple rig here.
Nikon 5400 Coolpix and a SL-1 Ring flash. This rig ran be about 300 after some serious shopping and rebates.

One of the most important things when taking pics is to get the pictures away from HID lighting. Even with white balance its hard to set up the cam with 142,000 lumens of yellow or red light.

We built a small white room thats outside our budding chamber, we use cheap flo's as lighting.
A piece of fabric from wallmart serves as a nice colorfull back drop.

To take macro shots your camera has to be perfectly still so use a Tripod and a timer. I set my timer for a full 10 seconds to give the plant time to stop moving about.

Make sure if Resin gets on the lens you wipe it off with alcohol.

With a lens this close I use a F-stop of 7.9 but to get super tight I stop down to 2.8
You wont get a very deep field with your lens 1 cm from bud though
