(CBS4 News) OPA-LOCKA Miami-Dade firefighters got quite a surprise today while fighting a blaze in Opa-Locka.

Crews were called to some apartments above the Northwest Seafood Outlet, 14075 N.W. 27th Avenue, to put out a fire in one of the units, but they also discovered a marijuana hydroponics lab in the apartment.

There were about 12 to 15 pot plants growing in the unit and the lighting equipment used in a hydroponics operation.

Police say the apartment and the Seafood retailer are not connected in any way. The apartment just happened to be above the store.

Opa-Locka and Miami-Dade Police are assisting in this investigation. They are now looking for the person who leases or rents the apartment.
