Some interesting old writings about Hashish
Hello folks
I've been collecting older books about Hashish for a while and thought I'd share the most interesting pages. First off is a rare book long out of print called 'Egyptian Service' by Sir Thomas Russell Pasha. He was head of the Egyptian police force for most of the first half of the twentieth century and wrote a thorough description of the hash making processes he witnessed. It's a fascinating book, rip-roaring boy's own stuff from the height of the British Empire, full of tales of chasing criminals around exotic lands, and the seamy underworlds of the Middle East. I found it in a local Oxfam for 20p so I was delighted. Here are the pages about Hashish production:
