The creation of Bubdder....

I was sitting here today running an ounce of Vortex Cosmo and an ounce of Spacejill for some bubble when I had one of those stoner revelations that for some reason was turning into a mission of dire need and of the utmost of intellectual importance........ Well I pondered over what I have accomplished in the realm of concentrates and figured I would combine two of my favorite forms and create a monster of sorts. So if you will all indulge me since I was far too stoned and way to eager to take any pictures of the process I'll have to use my gift of gab to provide you a picture and show you pics of the finished product for your evaluation. Sooooo without further ado.....

I started by running my two ounces of bubble the same way I always do, I take my one ounce of broken up lower buds and some smaller popcorn buds and toss them into the freezer when they are about a day and a half into the drying process, they do weigh substantially more than a z at this point I just eyeball what I figure to be about that weight dry. I like to let the budes and smaller lowers dry a bit to allow the trichomes to stand more erect for sieving in the bubblebags. When I take the ice out of the freezer I tend to beat the living daylights out of it for a while or give it a quick once over with the large food processor (Boys the ladies don't like us using the kitchen aid mixers and food processors for bubble so only do it when they aren’t home and don’t leave evidence like herb on the mixer) I do this to get more cutting edges on the ice for better and quicker gland removal. I use a 1 gallon 8 bag set a 3 gallon bucket and a paint mixer attachment for a drill to mix my bubble but the trick is to keep the drill on your low speed high torque setting to prevent over mixing, one other trick is to start mixing with the natural current of the water and ice and then quickly go the other direction and continue this until you get to about 5-7 min it will get frothy as hell this way and mixing is greatly improved IMHO. I run my bubble in two consecutive runs and keep the bubble separate so in all I would say I tend to only run my bubble runs for 10 minutes max, then I use the leftover material to make cannabutter with.

WARNING TAKE CARE AND PRECAUTIONS WHEN DOING THIS STEP, USERS BEWARE

After the bubble has been extracted and depending on strain anywhere from 3-5 grams of quality bubble is produced, I then take the bubble I ran and put it into a glass espresso cup filled half way with 99% everclear, I put this into a pan I have simmering on the stove with 1" of water in it until the bubble starts to melt, and it will believe me. When the mixture is completely dissolved I strain the bubble and everclear through a coffee filter back into another Espresso cup. At this point I like to continue to stir the EC and Bubble until it turns into an amber colored goop, I then go back and grab my cordless variable speed drill and grab a drill bit, now I've found that a masonry bit 1/4" is good worked best, it tended to create the most air within the double boiled bubble mixture. I put the drill on high speed start off very slow holding the bit above the bottom of the cup and also hold the cup good but remember your holding it in a puddle of water hot enough to scold. I do this mixing until all the Everclear is evaporated and the Budder is becoming even more evident as it fluffs up and turns into a butter like consistancy. I then take the Budder mixture and mix it off the heat of high until I get a mixture the consistency of airy peanut butter and sit it aside to await the next step.

Now the reason I love Budder is the hard hitting instant "YOUR STUCKING PHONED" buzz you get, but my only issue I've found is that because of the lack of some CBD's from the Everclear wash the longevity of the buzz is substantially reduced and your tolerances to the buzz increase, so to combat this downfall I chose to add some Spacejill bubble to this Budder concoction to beef up the longevity of this creation. So here’s what you do, I store most of my bubble in its solid as it stood form of a slab that I peeled off a piece of 25u mesh, as do most of you I assume, but to do this proper you must dry your bubble in a power form so you can mix it well with the budder. I take the pan I had sitting on the stove and fill it with water a bit more, increase the heat until I see bubbles forming on the bottom of the pan but not boiling, I put the budder back into the pan and slowly add the Bubble at a rate of ½ a gram at a time mixing with my rounded screwdriver at first and the bit as it starts to heat up. Now is a good time to mention that the mixture will have a tendency to want to crawl up the bit, if you keep a straw handy you can allow the mixture to crawl up the straw and blow it back out quickly before it cools, or do as I do and create a small tool by rounding the edges of a slotted screw driver and digging the Bubdder out manually. Now when you get to a ratio of about 3 grams of Bubble to the 5 grams of Budder it starts to look a bit thick, but have no fear the other 2 g’s will go in nicely and will prevent the mixture from being to oily to handle. I mix the 6-10g’s on high in the hot water for about 3 min until the mixture is the thickness of a good Nepal hash, very oily and yet very pliable without being unmanageable. I then take the mixture of Bubdder and let it cool to room temp and scrape it into the center of the cup, I take it out and let it cure by flattening it out and letting the air get at it, roll it back into a ball and flatten, repeat until satisfied and store as a ball as seen.

Now don’t fool yourself this no joke this is 100% clear dome full melt capable, and it’s actually quite amber when thinned out. The smell of the final product is very reminiscent of Nepal temple balls, you know that stamped hashish from the 80’s that I remember so well, it has that sweet smell of the Space queen but a stagnant Vortex Cosmo undertone that gives it a Dank spicy smell that’s unmistakable. With this mix I used the Vortex to make the Budder and the SQ to make bubble, so the buzz as expected is stellar to say the least. I was over at a friends @ 10:30pm tonight I was so excited about this new found treat that I had to get someone else to try it, His nick is Pothead Pete from a site called Treating Yourself and he’s a chronic smoker to put it mildly, I was amazed to hear him say that this was by far the best concentrate or hash that he has ever tried, and it’s not easy to make him attest to being stoned. I love looking at people and watching them look at you talk but you can tell without a shadow of a doubt that they are hearing Charlie Brown Language as a conversation, makes me wonder if they know we know they are absolutely shit faced.

Anyway I just figured I would post this little how to, if anyone would like more of an article format that goes into more detail and I’m bombarded with requests I’ll write up a D.I.Y. How to ready for publish, That goes for you guys at Skunk, Heads, Hightimes and last but most certainly not least and to be more precise more than likely Treating Yourself. As I walk down the road of cannabis deliverance and ponder the usefulness of the fruits of my labor I tend to think I have a lot more to offer this Community, this whole Medical MJ movement altogether, and a commitment to all of my fellow med users to take advantage of my GOD given talent and focus on getting some things published, what say the public?
